Fluon® PTFE Fluoropolymer
Fluon® PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) is a synthetic fluoropolymer that’s used around the world in thousands of applications ranging from industrial to surgical uses.
Fluon PTFE is available in the following forms:
Fluon® Lubricant Micropowders
Fluon® Lubricant Micropowders are manufactured from virgin PTFE feedstock. Available in micronized form, they can be used as dry lubricants or as additives in other materials such as plastic compounds, rubbers, fluoroelastomers, inks, paint, oils, and greases. Fluon® lubricant powders are certified by the FDA 21CFR 177:1550 (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) and European FCM legislation (Food Contact Materials). They are approved as additives in coatings which are in contact with food and drink, such as food processing equipment and can coatings, and can also offer enhanced lubricity, non-stick properties, and reduce friction—all of which are important in a wide range of applications.
Applications
- Flexographic printing inks
- General purpose lubricant
- Thermoplastic friction reducing additive
- Food contact coatings
