AGCCE currently has a vacancy for a Graduate Process Engineer. The incumbent will be responsible for providing process engineering support to the Technical Projects group within TFE, PTFE and ETFE plants, in-line with business requirements to improve SHE and operational performance, reduce the operational cost base, improve product quality and assist with development of new products and processes.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide technical engineering/problem solving support for smaller scale technological improvements within the business to improve safety, health and environment, output efficiency, product quality and consistency.
- Provide support for the planning and management of smaller projects from design through to plant handover, as directed by the Process Engineering Manager, ensuring projects are on-time and in specification.
- Manage contractors involved in process improvmement activities.
- Investigate, troubleshoot and debottleneck plant operational problems.
- Support the Process Engineering Manager and Head of Process Design and Projects as required.
- Apply the highest level of SHE management in all activities and guide the team to ensurecompliance.Personal Qualities:

- Must have a concern for detail and standards.
- A team player but also able to work independently and use their own initiative.
- Excellent IT skills, able to analyse and manipulate data and write reports.
- Must be able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.Qualifications and Experience:
- Chemical Engineering degree.
- Understanding of PTFE, ETFE and TFE manufacturing process and operations.
- Understanding of UK SHE legislation.
- Understanding of ISO14001 and ISO9001.
- Working towards the attainment of chartership.
- Experience within a chemical/plastic manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience of plant optimisation/process improvement.

The successful candidate will provide specialist advice to the Environmental Manager and the wider AGCCE business regarding compliance with legal, best practice and stakeholder requirements in relation to Environmental and Sustainability issues. They will drive improvements to achieve and maintain compliance with AGC and AGCCE sustainability targets.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Environmental Manager and Head of Sustainability with the development and implementation of Sustainability action plans.
- Accountable for the delivery of emissions reduction in accordance with AGC 2030 and 2050 carbon footprint goals.
- Accountable for data collection and reporting, to assure compliance with ESG reporting requirements (including carbon and energy reporting).
- Act as a key member for projects and activities that impact upon or are directly related to achieving AGC/AGCCE sustainability goals.
- Development and implementation of a company-wide sustainability training and employee engagement scheme, to support a behavioural and cultural change with regards to sustainability issues.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Environmental & Sustainability Management Degree would be advantageous.
- Proven experience of working within an Environmental / Sustainability / Quality or Continuous Improvement function.
- IEMA associate member / IOSH member or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Polymer processing or Chemical environment would be an advantage.
- Working knowledge and understanding of standards relating to sustainability/environmental management.
- Experience of implementing and supporting the maintenance of sustainability improvements/environmental management systems.
- Experience in internal/external auditing.
- Experience of manufacturing, preferably on a COMAH site.
Skills requirement:
- Able to persuade and influence without direct line authority.
- Self-motivated and able to manage/prioritise own workload.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to work with others effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent IT skills (Microsoft office and management systems).
