Forblue sunsep

FORBLUE™ sunsep

FORBLUE™ sunsep is a series of membrane dryers and humidifiers based on hollow fibres made from fluorine-based ion exchange resins.

Features

  • Rapid permeation of moisture from gas components
  • Capable of both humidification and dehumidification
  • Water vapour can be used after transfer from high-humidity gas to low-humidity gas
  • Ecological value (no energy input required as humidity differential is sole driving force)

What is a nonporous membrane?

Porous membranes are made of materials containing large pores (void spaces) that specifically allow for the removal of moisture. Yet the use of porous material also has the potential to allow through other substances smaller than the membrane void spaces. FORBLUE™ sunsep uses a nonporous membrane to ensure that hardly any gas substances other than moisture can pass through.

FORBLUE™ sunsep: How it works

The hollow fibres in FORBLUE sunsep are able to equalise the humidity differential between the gas inside the hollow fibre membrane and the gas outside it. This is achieved by moving moisture from the higher-humidity side to the lower-humidity side.

As the membrane is nonporous, little more than moisture vapor can pass through.

Principle of Humidification and Dehumidification

When dry air (gas) is supplied to the inside of a membrane tube and moist air (vapour) is supplied outside the membrane tube, the moisture permeates the membrane to the dry air inside, producing moist air. This is the process of humidification.

On the other hand, sunsep™ dehumidification units can reverse this process. The flow of airborne moisture through the membrane can absorbed and released to the dry air outside the membrane. This dehumidifies the air without affecting the balance of its components.
